From Glacial Origins and First Peoples of Cape Cod to Today’s Truth and Reconciliation Process with Indigenous Cultures Speaker: Todd Kelley

The fluid story of Cape Cod’s geology is based on water in different forms. Beginning with the tremendous pressure of the expanding Laurentide ice sheet to its collapsing ice margin and melt water outwash that make up the land mass of Cape Cod. But water’s role in shaping Cape Cod does not stop there. We will learn how this is so. We will also learn how the evolving landscape was inviting to the earliest people coming out onto the newly revealed coastal plain of Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod including the Islands. And respectfully condense the vast history of 12,000 plus years of Indigenous People through brief archaeology and anthropology culminating in present day Truth and Reconciliation and Right Relationships dialogue.
