Marian Strangfeld- Sumi-E Brush Painting 2 DAY MINI CLASS: SUMI-E TUES-WED, 1-3PM MAY 28-29

In the tradition of sumi-e painting, the artist concentrates mind and spirit in the process of painting, letting the brush and ink do the work. You will learn about these ancient traditions, as you practice the basic brushstrokes that comprise the classic subjects of bamboo, orchid and plum.  As you gain brush-handling skills, you will explore animals, landscapes, haiku poetry and other subjects.  This method of painting is very relaxed, meditative and enjoyable. All levels are welcome.
