Now in our eleventh season, Chatham Hood Bikes brings the joy of your childhood rides right to your neighborhood or wherever you are staying on your vacation. Free delivery and pick up is included with all full day rental packages. We provide you with helmets, locks, and baskets all included in your rental.
Our repair staff is ready to handle all your basic bicycle repair needs daily, and larger repairs we offer the fastest turn around times around. Jimmy Ponte is the owner operator who has attended The United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, OR, class of1996’. Jimmy went on to work for Nuke Proof Bikes in Ada, MI. as a welder and frame production manager. In 1998’ Jimmy went to work at Spooky Cycles in Brewster, NY where he was a welder and production manager as well as racing in the Northeast Downhill MTB races. In 2001, Jimmy moved back to his home town of Fairhaven/New Bedford, MA and started a small custom frame company. And from his childhood love of bikes, Chatham Hood Bikes was started.
In 2014 after moving to Chatham for HVAC work, Jimmy made a decision to start a rental and repair shop. He used ‘Kickstarter’ and raised your crowd funds to get it all rolling!
Today Jimmy is in the shop daily, with his well trained, fun loving staff ready to get you on your cycling adventure around beautiful Chatham and Harwich areas and beyond.
