Now in our eleventh season Chathamhood brings the joy of your childhood rides delivered to your neighborhood. Free delivery and pick up is included with all full day rental packages. We provide you with helmets and locks, all bikes included a basket for your gear, free with all bikes.
Our repair staff is ready to handle all your basic bicycle repair needs daily, and larger repairs we offer the fastest turn around times around. Jimmy Ponte is the owner operator who has attended The United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, OR. in 1996’. Jimmy went on to work for Nuke Proof Bikes in Ada, MI. as a welder and frame production manager. In 1998’ Jimmy went to work at Spooky Cycles in Brewster, NY were he was a welder and production manager as well as racing in the Northeast Downhill MTB race seen. In 2001, Jimmy move back to his home town of Fairhaven/New Bedford , MA. and started a small custom frame company and from his childhood love Hood Bikes was started.
2014 after moving to Chatham for HVAC work Jimmy made a decision to start a rental in repair shop to fill the void in town that year. He used ‘Kickstarter’ and raised your crowd funds to get it all rolling!
Today Jimmy is in the shop daily, with his well trained fun loving staff ready to get your cycling adventure around beautiful Chatham and Harwich areas and beyond.
