Cape Cod Healthcare Announces Reopening of Seasonal Urgent Care Centers in Orleans and Osterville for the 2025 Summer Season
New Level III Trauma Center Enhances Emergency Services in Hyannis

(Hyannis, MA - May 15, 2025) As Cape Cod prepares for its annual influx of summer visitors, Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) stands ready to provide accessible, high-quality medical care across the region.
With six urgent care centers strategically located throughout the Cape, two emergency centers and the recent designation of Cape Cod Hospital as a Level III trauma center, residents and visitors can access comprehensive, high-quality medical care where and when they need it most.

CCHC seasonal Urgent Care centers in Orleans and Osterville will be opening for the summer season on Monday, May 19, 2025. The Orleans facility is located at 42 Route 6A at the Jean P. Buchanan Medical Building and the Osterville center is located at the John and Marjorie McGraw Medical Complex at 770 Main Street.

In addition to the seasonal locations. CCHC Urgent Care centers provide convenient access across Cape Cod, with year-round facilities in Falmouth, Harwich, Hyannis and Sandwich, and offer expert, walk-in care for non-life-threatening conditions, including minor injuries, infections, and common illnesses. Staffed by board-certified emergency room providers and nurses, all six centers operate Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with no appointment or referral needed.

In addition, Cape Cod Healthcare is set to open a new urgent care center at The Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in July 2025. This marks Cape Cod Healthcare’s first urgent care facility off Cape Cod, expanding its network to better serve residents of Plymouth County and surrounding areas.

"Our urgent care centers provide convenient, efficient care for a range of medical needs," said Dr. Michael Hall, Chief of Emergency Medicine at Cape Cod Hospital. "With locations across the Cape and soon in Plymouth, patients can receive prompt attention without the need for long-distance travel or extended wait times."

In addition to urgent care services, Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis has been designated as a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, marking a significant advancement in emergency care for the region. This designation reflects the hospital's capability to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, intensive care, and stabilization for patients with moderate to severe injuries, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The trauma center serves as a critical resource, reducing the need for patients to be transferred off-Cape for life-saving care.

"The establishment of our Level III Trauma Center ensures patients with serious injuries receive immediate, high-level care without delay," said Michael K. Lauf, President and CEO of Cape Cod Healthcare. "This advancement underscores our commitment to meeting the healthcare needs of our community and visitors alike."
