Cape & Islands United Way to Host Annual Service Project Event in October
CIUW will lead groups of volunteers in service projects at various local nonprofits
Hyannis, MA — Cape & Islands United Way (CIUW) will host its annual Day of Action on October 7, 2025. CIUW’s Day of Action event brings together community members for an impactful day of volunteering with a focus on service projects at local nonprofits. Individuals or groups of coworkers can sign up to volunteer at https://www.capeandislandsuw.org/dayofaction.
Day of Action service projects are one-day commitments that range from beautification efforts to organizing food pantries. This years’ service project partners include Cape Cod Foster Closet, Champ Homes, Falmouth Service Center, Nantucket Interfaith, Cape Kid Meals, and Harbor Homes, with more organizations to be confirmed leading up to October. Last year, over 75 volunteers participated in the one-day commitment, helping to distribute food, pass out flyers, organize a winter coat drive, pack backpacks, and more.
“Many of our volunteers are groups of coworkers from other nonprofit organizations or local businesses,” said Mark Skala, President and Chief Executive Officer of CIUW. “This event is a powerful opportunity to work in unity with your coworkers and neighbors and lend a hand to the nonprofit organizations that keep our community vibrant.”
